The house you see here is a fairly recent one, it's occupants having shifted up from the depths of the Kasar Devi valley. Leaving behind their traditional homes so they can be nearer the roads. And not have to climb up some four or five kilometres everyday for a grab at existence. Their previous homes - some centuries old - lay behind, lonely and perhaps rotting, but still fondly remembered.
